Digital Print ready textiles

Description

We have developed many products in our Viking Range of Digital Print fabrics that can be used for parasols in the advertising space. The choice of product will largely be dictated by the amount of UV radiation that the parasol will be exposed to.

Dye Sublimation prints, although having a wide colour gamut and abrasion resistance, tend to have poor UV colour fastness and tend to fade after prolonged exposure. Reds, Oranges and scarlet shades are more prone to fading. Dye Sublimation inks can only be printed onto synthetic fabrics such as polyester.

UV prints have better colour fastness and retain the colour for much longer. In recent years, much emphasis has been placed on improving UV inks. Current inks are more flexible and tend to have better abrasion resistance than their predecessors.

Pigment prints provide excellent colour fastness and fade resistance. Developments with pigment inks is growing exponentially, with many inks being offered into the market. They can be applied to both synthetic and natural fabrics.

Latex inks also provide an excellent colour gamut and fastness, but like UV and Pigment inks, the inks are deposited as a film on the fabric and tend to have poor scuff resistance. Wet rub resistance of latex prints tends to be poor compared to the other print types.
