Weaving
Resource Link is a vertically integrated company that weaves its’ own fabric. This enables us to be innovative, consistent, and reliable. We control the quality and only the best yarns are sourced to produce our products.
We operate both Jet and rapier looms, and this gives us the edge in versatility. We can produce the full spectrum of polyester fabrics, from fine and delicate to dense and robust. We have a strong development team and can design fabrics to each of our customer’s needs.
Coating
We have a wide range of coating capabilities which is supported by our strong technical team and years of experience. We formulate and mix all our own coatings so we have complete control of the quality and can ensure every batch meets our high standards. Some of the coatings we do are
-
Waterproof coatings
-
Block-out coatings
-
Flame Retardant Coatings
-
Foam Coatings
-
Print Receptive Coatings
Our laboratory has developed various waterproof coatings based on acrylic, polyurethane, and polyvinyl acetates chemistries.
Our proprietary waterproof technologies have been applied to textiles for vast applications, including medical, shelter, rainwear, outdoor signage, parasols, and tenting.
All of our waterproof coatings are verified according to ISO811.
these coatings are applied to completely seal the fabric. We have two main systems we use. our standard acrylic coating which can reach a hydrostatic head of 1m or our Polyurethane system which can reach a hydrostatic head of 10m meters.
These are coatings applied to the back of the textile to block out anything you don’t want to be visible on the face of the fabric like light or frames etc.
These coatings have the functionality of any normal coating like waterproofing or Block-out but will also be flame retardant.
Synthetic textiles such as Polyester, are products of fossil fuels and as such are inherently combustible.
There are many different Flame retardant specs depending on the country / area FR requirements.
We offer various flame retardant treatments and coatings to ensure the textile meets the customers Flame Retardant specifications, including CPAI84, NFPA-701, SANS1287, BS7837, B1/B2 and M1/M2.
These are specialised coatings that are foamed before being applied to the textile. This will result in a porous coating which has a soft to touch handle. These coatings are great for Block-out Curtains or Breathable rainwear.
These coatings are applied to the face of the fabric that will be printed on. This will improve the colour development and scratch resistance of the print. These coatings are applied mainly for fabric intended to be printed on Eco-solvent, Latex and UV Printers.
Finishing
We have a wide array of different finishes we can apply to textile to enhance specific functionalities that are required. In our lab we formulate all our own finishes which gives us the ability to tackle any technical requests/new developments with speed. Below are some of the finishes we do.
-
Water and oil Repellent
-
Softeners and stiffening
-
Anti-Fungal
-
Anti-Microbial
-
Flame Retarders
-
Print Receptive Finishes
This treatment is a C6 fluorocarbon that is applied to the fabric, this will cause water to “bead” off the fabric. This treatment also repels oils and prevents staining.
with our range of chemicals, we can alter the handle of most fabrics. Whether you want to stiffen the handle of the fabric to give it more body or soften the fabric to increase the drape, we can formulate the required recipe to give you the handle you need.
This treatment is applied to outdoor textiles that will be exposed to a lot of moister to prevent mould and mildew from forming.
Prevents Microbes (Bacteria and Viruses) from surviving or multiplying on the textile surface. This is used in facemasks, sports apparel etc
Antimicrobial treatments have become increasingly popular, especially during the past two years during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Our Antimicrobial chemistry is based on nanoparticle products that offer an enormous microstructure to capture various bacteria and viruses. The Antimicrobial treatment anchors into the interstices of the textile and is permanently bonded onto the textile fibre, providing excellent wash and dry-cleaning resistance.
The Antimicrobial chemistry is an OKEO-TEX® listed product and Bluesign® approved.
This can be applied to any polyester fabric. This treatment goes into the polyester polymers and thus is a permanent treatment.
These treatments are designed to hold ink printed directly onto the fabric in place. This prevents the ink bleeding and keeps the edges of the image sharp. This mainly used for direct printed dye sublimation and pigment inks.
